I just installed Skpye on my iPhone 3G. It works fine, the interface is a bit sluggish and it tells me that my data plan prohibits Skype calls on EDGE/3G. I hope that it’ll support calls from wireless networks. Will try it later today.
Update
After some testing – didn’t really test the app but fiddled around a bit – I can say that it really works as expected. Skype for iPhone is the real deal. It has the genuine look and feel, has these distinct sounds and jingles and works perfectly right out of the box App Store.
As I already stated it won’t let me make calls while on EDGE or 3G. The error message states that my provider prohibits making VoIP calls through his network. Yippie! Just got my MacHeist 3 Bundle for $39. Actually I only paid $31 thanks to my bundle discounts I got during my mission unlocks. And I can make use of most of the 12 apps.

Ever wondered how to link to an application from the Apple iTunes App Store? You probably could find a site with the link to the desired application on it and just copy the URL from the there. I prefer the easy and regular way by using the iTunes Music Store (iTMS) Link Maker on Apple’s website. MacHeist features a new free software bundle for your loot. All you have to do this time is to join a group on MacHeist. Answer some questions on the Agent Aptitude Test form and have a look into your loot.
It’s a very short and funny survey, took me 2 mins and made me laught. (e.g. What would you do if a Zune user was stabbed right across the street?)
